DUPREE DANCE COMPETITION INFORMATION
Entry fees are non-refundable. All competition fees are per person, per entry.
Observer bands are not required for our competition. Admission to Dupree Dance competition is free! Open seating will begin 15 minutes prior to the start of competition. Dupree Dance Competitions are always held on Saturday at 3:00 PM in each city. In some cities, Saturday competition time may be adjusted to start slightly earlier or later depending on the number of entries at that event. If the number of group/line/production routines registered at an event exceeds the allotted time available for Saturday competition, Dupree Dance will also hold competition on Friday.
Anyone registering for a solo, duo, or trio must be available to perform on Friday. It is also a possibility that a portion of our group, line and/or production competition may begin on Friday. Dupree Dance will always email registrants a general competition line-up 2-3 weeks prior to each event which will allow participants a great window of time to plan ahead for their personal competition schedule.
Each dancer performing during competition must wear their convention registration wristband. Dancers who are not registered for convention classes will not be permitted to compete. The only exceptions to this rule are for adult dancers who perform in a Parent Number that is directly associated with a registered studio, or for any dancers registered in our Specialty Needs division that are directly associated with a registered studio. You may read more about Parent Numbers and Specialty Needs under ‘Dance Categories’.
Only 1 solo per dancer is permitted at our regoinal competitions.
Beginning in 2015, Professional DVD and Photo Services of all your competition routines will be offered by Same Day Productions. The DVD and photo services are turned around that day so you can walk away with your videos before the weekend is over. Photography and videotaping is strictly prohibited during competition. The Studio Convention Video Pass may NOT be used during competition at any time. You may read more about our Studio Convention Video Pass rules/regulations under the Convention Information portion of our website by clicking on the Videotaping Policy menu option.
